Professor Masuyama's retirement party

Last Saturday, Professor Araki Masuyama, who is also in the Materials and Life Chemistry Division, gave his final lecture.

I joined Osaka Institute of Technology as a lecturer in April 2010. Thanks to the generous support and guidance of Professor Masuyama, we were able to start research activities. We owe it all to Professor Masuyama that we are able to carry out our research today.

I helped out as much as I could at Professor Masuyama's final lecture, and the large number of people who attended once again highlighted the breadth of his network and the depth of his popularity.

After his final lecture, a retirement party was held at Ristorante Sho, located on the upper floors of the Umeda campus.

Professor Masuyama will soon begin his second life, but we hope that he will continue to watch over the Natural Product Chemistry Laboratory with warmth.
