Exhibition at the Kansai Expo

As mentioned in a previous blog post, we exhibited at the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion at the Kansai Expo on Tuesday, August 19th.

"Eat Mushrooms for Health! ~Artificial Chemical Synthesis of Medicinal Ingredients and Their Biological Activities Related to Dementia Prevention~"

Despite the scorching heat, many people stopped by.

Four graduate students worked alongside me to clearly explain the efficacy, components, and significance of synthesizing the mushroom components we were researching.

Visitors were also very interested in the menu of dishes using Yamabushitake mushrooms. Everyone seemed to enjoy the quiz using homemade mushroom cards, thinking seriously about the answers.

The final event was to get capsule toy by "gacha machine", which was a prize for the mushroom quiz. Everyone, from small children to foreigners, young and old, turned the dial of gacha machine with a smile on their face. No great prizes were given out, but it was exciting to wonder what would come out.

I never thought that the gacha machine I made for the neighborhood association's art exhibition a few years ago would be used at the Expo...it was a wonderful moment.

Perhaps having seen the previous blog post, alumni Mr. Kuroda and Miss Okuo came to our booth!!

It was a surprising moment and we spent a happy time.

Thank you very much to everyone who stopped by!

All of us at the Natural Products Laboratory will continue to work hard on our research!
