At the ``68th Symposium on the Chemistry of Terpenes, Essential Oils and Aromatics (TEAC)' held at Shinshu University Faculty of Agriculture from October 26th to 28th, M2 student Edric Wilbert, Kenta Tanaka, Taiga Tsuruyama, and M1 student Hinata Togo gave a presentation on the following title.

Oral presentation

Synthetic Study of Sterols Isolated from Mushrooms: Synthesis of Gargalol-Related Natural Products (Wilbert)

・Total Synthesis of Amine- or Amino Acid-bound Natural Products Isolated from Mushrooms (Tanaka)

・Synthetic Study of Kalmanol by Skeletal Rearrangement of Grayanotoxin (Tsuruyama)

・Biomimetic synthesis of fungal sterols starting from ergosterol peroxide (Togo)

Shinshu University's Faculty of Agriculture is located in Minamiminowa Village, Nagano Prefecture.

There are tree-lined streets along the road leading to the university, and sitting on a wooden chair on campus feels just like taking a walk in the forest.

It's truly enviable that students can study in such a naturally rich place.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Professor Fujita of Shinshu University and all the administrative staff for organizing the symposium.
