In the Natural Products Chemistry Lab, we are working on synthesizing components from mushrooms, and we are particularly interested in the components from Yamabushitake (= Lion's mane mushroom).
This mushroom is not often seen in supermarkets, but luckily the supermarket on my way to work always has about 10 packs of it in stock.
As chemical researchers on mushrooms, we should start by learning about mushrooms, so I bought up all the mushrooms in the store and gave one to each of the new fourth-year students.
Each pack costs about 100 yen.
The students each made a dish and sent me photos.
They all look delicious!
I also post dishes made by the fourth-year students last year.
Thank you to everyone who taught me delicious ways to eat Yamabushitake!
