As mentioned in a previous blog, we held the "Super Research Summer School" was carried out on Tuesday, August 20th.
With 15 participants, the following procedure was carried out :
Extraction of pigments from vegetables
Preparation of pigment mixtures by filtration and concentration
Analysis of pigments by thin-layer chromatography
Separation of pigments by silica gel chromatography
Color change of pigments due to liquid properties
With support from lab members, the experiments were conducted in a fun, friendly, yet serious atmosphere.
I think all participants were excited to see the beautiful vegetable extracts and the pigments being separated.
All of the lab members enjoyed the event with high school students.
Please continue to enjoy chemistry!
Let's meet again if we have the opportunity!
